The format that I chose was the video format. I did not include a soundtrack nor people’s voices. I did not have audio in my video. The content that I chose to include were images that tell what I do throughout the day and what I like to do do. I decided to do this because I did not want to appear in the video but I still wanted to show the things the I like to do. The technology shaped my decision in that I decided not to include myself talking because I do not own a microphone.

I am no different from most people, so I encounter a lot of technology in my everyday life. I use an alarm clock to wake me up in the morning and my phone to make calls and send text messages. I use the computer to go online to check assignments or for entertainment purposes. I watch a lot of television (probably a lot more than I should) and listen to music on my iPod almost all of the time when I have nothing to do. No matter how much I love technology, however, I already feel that there are many things about it that I do not understand, and, as new advances are being made, I feel that it is going to get harder and harder for me to keep up with technology.

One of my favorite things to do that involves technology is watch to watch movies on DVD. When I am not watching a movie , however, I am probably watching television. I watch television, probably, all the time when I am home. I only try to refrain myself from watching television when I really need to concentrate on something, which, I am ashamed to say, is not often. I do  think, though, that I do need to find alternatives to watching television, because I watch way too much of it. I also love to listen to music, so another technological artifact that I interact with a lot is my iPod. I never know when there will come a moment in which I will have nothing to do, so having my iPod with me sure comes in handy to pass the time.

The computer is another technological artifact that I use a lot. When I am home, I am probably online about one third of the time, if not more. On my computer, sometimes I go online for school purposes. To check for any new homework assignments that we might have, or to check my school account at MyCSUSTAN. Other times I go online for entertainment purposes. To go into MySpace, or watch videos on YouTube.

I use MySpace to communicate with my friends and family. I will either send them messages or post comments on their page. I love that this technology helps us communicate with people that would otherwise be hard for us to stay in touch with. I mean, without MySpace, I probably would have lost touch with a lot of my high school friends, which would be depressing.

Most of the videos that I watch on YouTube are music videos or movie previews. YouTube also comes in handy to me when I have missed a television segment or want to watch a segment again. It makes it very easy for me to stay entertained. It is very hard for me to be bored when I have access to the internet.

Another important feature of the computer that comes in handy, and that I use a lot is E-mailing. I use E-mails to communicate with many people , who otherwise, would be difficult for me to come into contact with. For example, I communicate with a very good friend of mine, who lives in Mexico, through E-mails. I love that technology has brought us E-mailing because she is like a sister to me and not being able to communicate with her would make me very sad. Through E-mails, I can also communicate with any of my professors, in case I have any questions or concerns.

I also enjoy taking pictures, so I use my digital camera a lot. I love that I can take it anywhere and create a lasting memory simply taking a picture. I also love that I can take pictures of either important moments in my life or of any little thing that I would probably forget as time passes. I can also share my pictures by transferring them into my computer, and sending them to whomever I wish. This way, I can share special moments in my life with my friends and family.

The one technological artifact that I use most is, probably, my cell phone. There are many things that I can use my cell phone for. Even though my cell phone is probably not as entertaining or as technologically advanced as other phones, I love it and it is very helpful to me. My cell phone brings a lot of the things that I love to do together into one small device that I can carry with me anywhere.

For instance, my cell phone has a camera feature, as most phones do. This feature allows me to take pictures even when I do not have my digital camera with me. It also has a game feature, and, even though it does not contain that many entertaining games, I do use this feature when I have nothing else to do, because it helps pass the time. A great feature that my cell phone has is that I can store music in it. I love this feature because, as I have mentioned, I love to listen to music. This feature makes my cell phone serve as a substitute mp3 player, in case that I do not have my iPod with me.

Another feature, that I use a lot on my cell phone, is the internet feature. Since I cannot take my computer with me and I do not own a laptop, it is understandable why I love this feature so much. Even though the internet feature on my cell phone cannot replace going online on an actual computer it is close enough. It allows me to go into MySpace, which is, frankly, more than enough for me. I go online on my cell phone whenever I want, or whenever I am too lazy to get up and turn on my computer. I love that I basically have access to the internet wherever I go, because, as I have mentioned, I can never get bored with the internet.

However, I do not think that I will improve on this, mostly, because I do not want to. If anything, my addiction to text messaging will probably get worse.

Although I love that technology is advancing so fast, and it helps me out so much in my everyday life that it would probably be very hard for me to live without technology, sometimes these advances concern me. It concerns me because, as I have mentioned, I am not good with technology as it is. I see people around me all the time that know what they are doing and, honestly, sometimes it makes me feel pretty stupid. Whenever I have a problem with some technological artifact of mine, I always have to ask other people to help me fix the problem. I think that I should start to try and understand technology now, before it overwhelms me in the future. I should start seeing how things work instead of what they do. I can do this by asking people who do know about technology or by doing research on technology. I believe this would help me understand technology better.

Technology is all around us. It is hard to avoid it, but I do not think that most of us would want to, because it is very helpful. Technology has made life simpler for most people, and it has brought us a variety of ways in which to be entertained. I think life would be suck without technology.

This brings me to the scene in which Marcus is meeting with Benson and he reveals to the reader that he knows Benson’s date of birth, his mother’s date of birth, and even his social security number. This to me is very interesting because it shows how good Marcus is with technology and it also shows how many things are actually possible to do nowadays with the help of technology.

Games can be for many things. They can be for learning purposes. As I mentioned above there are many games out there designed for the purposes of teaching, and they really do work. Games are also for entertainment purposes. We play them because they can really help pass the time, especially when you have nothing else to do. We play them to escape the world of reality and go into an alternate universe.
